Mozart’s Café

An incredible moment from last week, we had organized a Mozart-themed café concert in our music school. Most of the music played was written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The concert was combined with a cake decorating workshop and watching the film Amadeus, which is more of a dramatic work than a historically accurate one. We created an extremely good atmosphere for the music with costumes. It was a unique feature that we, the teachers, got clothes from the local theater and put on high wigs, just like in his time! It was tricky to hold the wig in place for the first time, but after we had discovered some hidden clips, it was much easier to handle it. I contributed to the concert both as a flute teacher and as a singer. It was my first time to sing opera in front of a real audience, and it counted as a real achievement, since I am not an official opera singer. I am proud of the work we and the students have done, and looking forward to our concert week and tour to Germany next week. Thank you for reading. See you in the next post!
